In the last decade, Robert has led Bewsys to make an even greater commitment to delivering life-changing information management systems to support sustainable development initiatives in the humanitarian sector across developing countries. Through the leadership of Robert, Bewsys has committed to contribute to the attainment of sustainable development goals (SDGs) both internally and in creating value for clients and stakeholders. In recognition of his commitment in showcasing how business can be a force for good and in taking action on sustainable development issues, the United Nations Global Compact named Robert Okine as the 2021 SDG Pioneer for Digital Innovation and Inclusion.
Robert has led assignments for The World Bank, UNDP, UNICEF, UNOPS, IOM, CNFA, USAID, Mastercard Foundation, CTA, ECOWAS, SADC, IGAD, Association of African Universities (AAU), Newmont, Google, Tetra Tech, World Cocoa Foundation, and Proforest.
Robert has worked on over 50 projects in more than 50 countries, focusing on digital technologies as a tool in the achievement of sustainable development goals (SDGs).
Robert’s vision is to create better world systems through innovative and sustainable information technology by working collaboratively with his team to develop unique digital solutions for the 17 sustainable development goals. Robert believes that when the 17 goals are achieved, the world will be a better place for all.
As an SDG advocate, he uses every medium and opportunity to propagate the importance of the SDGs. In leading the firm's operations and the decision-making processes, it is his priority to integrate the SDGs, especially gender equality and reducing inequality among societies.
Robert is a graduate of the Stanford Institute for Innovation in Developing Economies program (Seed).
